Boy Scout Troop 183

Troop 183

Our Boy Scout Troop has been busy lately, with 4 scouts attending the National Jamboree at Fort AP Hill from July 26th through August 4th.  Another group of parents and scouts visited the Jamboree for the day on Thursday July 29th.
We helped celebrate Bill O'Quinn's birthday on Saturday July 31st at Tall Pines and enjoyed interacting with the Troops from Florida that were camping in his backyard.
On Saturday August 7th, we gathered at the Blue Water Subdivision's common area and held a canoe instructional session in preparation for an upcoming camping and canoe trip down the James River on August 27th-29th.  Well, it wasn’t all instruction, as we spent the afternoon tubing on the Lake after having a cookout lunch.
On September 17th-19 we will be traveling to Virginia Beach for the Oceana NAS Air Show and camping out on the Oceana Base.   Featured highlights of the air show have included in the past the Blue Angels and their support plane called Fat Albert.
On October 8th-10th, we will attend our Monticello District's Apple Harvest Camporee at Pleasant Grove in Fluvanna County.      Jim Harlow,Scoutmaster Troop 183
